Win 8.1 upgrade to 8.1 Professional

Currently have a laptop running 8.1 core. I need to upgrade to professional in order to run a software package for programming access control door systems. I have found a few links to do this but am wary of buying a key from unknown sources. Can anyone recommend a good source?

You need to buy the key from Microsoft or a legit retailer , like newegg etc. If it's too cheap it's not legit.

Microsoft no longer sells the key, and hasn't for about 2 years. I'll check on Newegg.

They only have the Full version of Pro at newegg.com. Have you considered upgrading to Windows 10. If you need to upgrade, might was well.

We did actually try 10. It will work with this software package, but not with some of the older programs
we use on a constant basis. Thank you though.
