win 8 upgrade SSD hdd

I have a PC running win 7 on a 120GB SSD and about 500GB of games\programs on a 1TB HDD.I want to upgrade to win 8. Can I do that without headache? While keeping all the HDD files there and intact?
How should I do it?

keep ur backup files on the hdd and do a fresh install on ssd seems simple to me

Depending on the SSD you can migrate the OS partition (if you made a partition) from the HDD to the new drive.
