I am wanting to transfer an older software from one Windows 98 machine to another Windows 98 machine. The program is the C & G Surveying Software. I tried removing the old HD and placing it into the new computer and it seemed to work but when I launched the program it said that it was a demo version and not activated. However, once I placed the HD back into the original machine and the software worked fine and was activated. Could it be possible that the software has associates itself with the original hardware?
