Win ME internet problems

I just did a clean install of ME, and had everything configured correctly for my dial up networking. My modem diagnostics check out fine.. and when I connect to my isp provider, it dials, modems talk, and about 10 seconds later it disconnects me with an Error: 650

I tried going into safe mode, uninstalling dial up networking and all communication components, and re-installing them through add/remove programs, and it still is giving me the same problemo...

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.. I'm currently forced to use my WebRamp 200i analog router for internet access @ home..

Well if you have tried to re-install DUN and the modem drivers then try this:
find telephon.ini and rename it ( or delete it ).
Then go to start run and type tapiini.exe ( thats is 2 I's in that ). That will rebuild the file.
Reboot and try to connect.
If that does not work then try to lower the FIFO buffers and if that still fails try the phone company to test the line for noise.
