win Me & modem??

wonderfull Win Me , lol lol lol.
problem/question is, just installed new 3com/us robotics 56k performance pro pci contoller-based faxmodem model# 3cp325610a. installed it in the same pci slot the old modem was in , cpu showed old modem was in com port 1 , now the new modem is showing up in com port 5 , yes that's "5" .why and is this a problem?? seems to be working ok, and p.s. yes i did remove ALL signs of the old modem before installing the new one.
all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

hey hey , me again , forgot one more question , i used us robotics driver for installation , not win me driver
the modem is a VERY new model so i thought that was best , what do you all think of that pls.

Don't sweat it, it's no big deal, many PCI modems do this to avoid any possible conflict with your other COM ports, even though you might not even be using them.
