Well, I'm not normally a micro$oft advocate, but I must say-I've had some good luck with ME. It has succeeded where win98se and win2k have failed. I'm using an oc'd tbird on a kt7-raid, also with an aureal sound card. Win ME is the only windows OS I've used that will run for more than an hour without crashing on this system--even though the only way I can get an OS to install is if I remove all of my PCI cards first, which seems odd to me but hey--it works! I also like how ME boots up quickly--about 8 seconds from the end of the BIOS boot to a working mouse cursor. The other thing I like about ME is that you can backup your system settings easily, and when ME screws you over (like it does fairly often) you can restore the system to like it was before it tried to commit suicide. Also, this aureal card has been a living HELL. I'm thinking it's the reason that my system is so unstable, and like I said--I couldn't even run windows setup with it plugged in. I installed it after installing ME, and now it runs almost satisfactorily. It'll play MP3's forever it seems, but it still locks up my games. Oh well--my philips card will be coming soon. (!!!) Anyway, so far so good, but ME still has plenty of time to make me change my mind about it. Any of you guys had this kind of luck with windows ME?
