Please what do I need to know to install Windows 7 64 bit with a Skylake cpu? Are there not at least a couple of idiosyncrasies that need to be duly addresses at installation?

to the op if your going to go from windows 7 and then take the free windows 10 upgrade. save yourself a headake and download the full windows 10 iso to a usb stick using windows media creation tool. the new windows 10 iso will let you register it with a vailid windows 10 key. it save you some time and space on your hardd rive to jump from windows 7 iso to windows 10.
Long story short, Windows 7 installation media does not include native driver support for USB 3.0. So you have to create your own bootable media and adjust it with the above tool.

However after reading it I saw they list using Microsofts tool (sorry its been a while since I've done this) which, if all goes well works fine. I have a number of ISO's it doesnt work on, so sometimes the MS tool doesn't work. So sometimes you have to build a Windows 7 installer from scratch. Here's a good site with a how-to for doing that.
