Howdy, I've read a few comments online about this?
If I don't use Bit locker on my system is this required?
Do I have to resize my recovery partition for future updates for recovery, or is this only associated with bit locker only?.
Thanks.

The info from Microsoft says it is for a Bit Locker vulnerability.

Therefore one can assume that if you don't use Bit Locker, you don't need the update.

I've ran into the issue twice now and both times I figured out how to fix it with instructions listed on various websites.

If you want to try to fix it, I (and others) can help. If you don't want to fool with it, and don't use Bit Locker, then you can probably safely ignore the issue. Notice that I said probably. I can't say what all the update itself does.

As far as I know, the issue with the recovery partition ONLY affects this update. Additional updates work with no issues.

This is not a simple fix that you can get half way through and just quit if you run into an issue. So if you do run into an issue, you really need to leave your PC on until you get help and get things straightened out. I recommend doing full backup first.

Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update:

If I remember right, I had a few minor issues with the instructions. First off, it says things like: sel part<OS partition index>
There should be a space between part and OS partition index. This is repeated several times on the page.
Another issue I had with was part 5a. It says to check the style of a partition, but doesn't tell you which one. This is confusing, especially in context with the rest of the instructions. If I remember right, you should be checking the partition where the OS is located.
