Win XP 32bit After Idle night LAG

Ok so My pc is kinda old... 80GB hdd 2gb ddr2 ram ATI radeon HD4600 video card 2x2.10 ghz 64bit processor.

Im using Win XP 32bit. I solve the problem myself 3 times already... But only by reinstalling Windows after formatting hdd.

The problem is ... Very strange lag accurances on startup, loading games, in games and movies sounds are full of pops and stutters... Screen is choppy and rly I dont get it but it feels like it has 40 fps+ but often it starts to... I dont even have the words to describe that strange fps behavior... For example I reinstalled windows 7 days ago ~ and all was smooth until this morning. I left my pc playing music over night and in the morning all those problems are back....

Restarting doesnt help, it loads a lot more now even on Windows XP startup screen.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON ?

P.S. I have nstalled only 12.4 agp ati control center (video drivers) realtek AC97 audio drivers, microsoft office 2007, world of tanks, nba2k14 and mozilla firefox, utorrent. Other things was patched with my windows.

And what should I do with it ? It sais HHD health is GOOD and 34 degrees celcius temperature

Ye im almost sure its software... I just want to know if this can be fixed or should I install windows 7 and forget it, or if its harwre will it come back... U know...

Are your idle and load temps for the CPU and GPU ok?Are there any programs using an excessive amount of memory (look in task manager)? Have you run a boot virus check? If a clean install of Windows runs stable for a week then becomes unstable with no other changes then it could be a virus. Some people have complained about a memory leak/corruption with World of Tanks, which can be fixed with a restart of the computer, but since that did not work for you it isn't the problem. You could try uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them with the most recent ones (from the web site and not from the driver disk) to see if that fixes the problem to determine if it is a driver issue. If nothing else works try Windows 7, if the problem returns then you know it is a hardware issue.

I did system restore to few days back and the problem is gone. Dont know for how long.
