Win XP Pro 32bit 4Gig memory?

How much memory does Windows XP Pro really use?
if you drop 4Gig of memory in your box is it true that it only uses 3Gig and the 1 gig is not used?

I think i heard that before. One of my friends has 4GB of ram and insists it uses all 4GB, but he could be lying, idk. I have 1GB and it works for me.

The maximum amount of memory that can be supported on Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 is also 4 GB.
