Win xp safe mode not working

Hello,
Winxp starting in normal mode but not working in saftmode. I forgot the password of avast anitvirus and for uninstallation only way in safemode.
could you please help me.

what happens when you try to get into safe mode?

Try uninstalling with CMD . By By safe mode with cmd or by recovery console...
