Hi everyone.

Win 10 64-bit user. Dual boot system. Both win 10 64-bit. Amd cpu upgrade no chipset change. Am4 chipset. B450 motherboard. Started using older pci-e gpu and not the integrated graphics. The new cpu hasn't got integrated graphics. Same rme audio interface (external, external power) in both sydtems. One system all fine. Before and after upgrade.

But the other system doesn't recognize the audio interface after the upgrade. It shows a message like "This device cannot find enough free resources (code 12) You will need to disable one of the other devices" in the device manager.

Tried uninstal the onboard audio (both bios and device manager). Nothing good.
Tried uninstall, reinstall newest drivers (device manager- software control panel). Nothing good
Tried usb repair-update, the cleanest of repairs (usb in place windows repair) it worked once, but then when i shut down and restarted, it showed that the interface was “disconnected”.

To be honest i don’t want to re-install the system. Can’t blame hardware change since both systems share the same hardware. Can’t blame software updates since both share the newest updates both Windows and drivers.

Any help or idea?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. In your predicament, include your audio equipment and USB driven peripherals as well.

Prior to performing a CPU upgrade, did you make sure you were on the latest BIOS version for your motherboard? Following your CPU's upgrade, were you met with a message that fTPM was reset?

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

Cpu: Amd Ryzen 7 3700x (replaced Amd Ryzen 3 2200g). Never overclocked.
Cpu cooler: normal Amd cooler.
Motherboard: Asus B450 m-a (bios update early 2025)
Ram: 32gb ddr4 (2x16gb)
Gpu : ASUS EN210 SILENT/DI/1GD3/V2(LP) (latest driver works in win 8 compatibility mode)
Ssd/hdd: 5 units. 3 ssd. 2 hdd.
Psu: Normal older 500 watts psu.
Monitor: 2 monitors. Lenovo-Hp.
Audio interface: Rme Digiface HDSP (connected with older pci-e adapter - external power supply).
Usb peripherals: Generic Keyboard, Generic Mouse (all other devices - printer, midi interface, midi controllers- are connected only when needed).

I’ve updated the bios to a version way newer (2024-25) than the age of the new cpu (2019). The cpu is fully supported.

Yes the furst screen was something like ftpm was reset (maybe) and asked for a change. I answered no (if i remember).
There is a bios setting for ftpm etc i tried.
But as i said two similar software systems share the hardware, one system works perfectly well, the other has the problem.
