I don't actually get the driver failure message anymore, but when I first upgraded my system -- new mobo, cpu, and win10 -- I installed The Witcher 3 and about an hour into the game it started choking and computer slowed to a halt and my display driver had crashed. I had to reboot via button on case. This happened multiple times until I found a thread that suggested using the windows troubleshooting for hardware, which would always tell me it had changed some things and I needed to restart my pc. The game would then run without any issues for the remainder of my play time, until the next day oddly enough. Then I had to do the same thing. And it worked every time. The message doesn't pop up anymore, but occasionally -- once or twice a day -- I will have to reboot my computer because the crashing will happen. Sometimes the graphics just kind of flicker while playing league as well. I went to play a game of Heroes of the Storm and my display driver crashed, it also crashed while playing Portal. From everything I've read it seems to be problems with the compatibility of windows 10 and drivers, but I figured someone came up with a solution since the threads are 6 months old. Any help here? Also dealing with high memory usage -- which ive seemed to fix altering some numbers in registry.

I tried doing this, unfortunately the problem persists.

An Update: After doing some hardware troubleshooting because my computer wouldn't start this morning, I came to the conclusion of a bad GPU. I bought a new one and everything was running fine, until I opened a video game and about 4 minutes in something crashed and my monitor displayed a flashing green screen (new). My computer was also making a strange ticking sound, like a clock or something on a perfect beat. tick..... tick...... tick. This is the same ticking I had heard this morning. And then later when I was troubleshooting hardware and finally got to RAM. I pulled the stick of RAM that I thought it was - I have 4 - and my computer booted no problem. I haven't crashed in about 20 minutes. Is it possible my video card went out and then all of the sudden I had a bad stick of RAM? I'm really hoping that's what happened over something being wrong with my mobo. Already out 350 on video card.

FYI I did rule out HDD failure, and I also alternated PSUs though Im still a little unsure because the highest alternative I had was a 600w. The RAM thing is still really strange to me.

If anyone happens to red through this having the same issue as me, I think I have found the solution. After troubleshooting a problem with my video card - a problem that I think was caused by a failing PSU, I replaced my GPU. After replacing my GPU I still had random shutdowns, so I then went back to my origianl theory of a faulty PSU. I replaced my PSU. After replacing my GPU and my PSU the problem seems to be fixed.

Problem: I woke up to a computer that wouldn't boot but was powering everything on: fans, lights, etc. Just no POST or video. It was also making a strange ticking sound. Like ticked every 1 or 2 seconds. I determined the sound was coming from my MOBO's speaker.

Solution: After using troubleshooting guides found on this website to determine faulty hardware, I found out the issue was my GPU, so I replaced the GPU. The computer then booted, but I was still getting the video driver crashes that eventually led to a dead GPU. I then replaced my PSU. Everything seems to be working properly.
