Win10 randomly locks me out of my NAS drives

What do I have to do to totally destroy Win10's ability to declare that I don't have
permission to access my own NAS drives ? I'm the only person on my computer and
my network.
My only work-around is to try to save everything I'm working on and shut down my
computer.
My WinXP computer on the same network has no problems.

You could try invoking the System Administrator account by opening an elevated Command Prompt and typing
net user Administrator /active:yes
and hitting the Enter key. Restart and log in to that Administrator account then go to the Properties in each of the drives in turn and give your own account Full Control in the Permissions part under the Security tab.

When you get fed up with having to choose which account to log into, the syntax changes to /active:no.

My use of the word "random" was intentional.
Sometimes everything acts normally, sometimes, out of the blue, it refuses to give me access.
If I wait long enough and repeatedly try randomly, it will eventually start giving access again.
This happens even though I haven't made any account changes.

I should also clarify that I use QtTabBar in order to be able to produce different colors for various areas of the screen while I'm in Windows
Explorer, but that screen is not invoked during "Save As..." and "File Open...", which is where most of my troubles occur.
Most of the time, I can right click on a directory in QtTabBar and ask to "Open in Other View", and it will start responding in the main view
correctly.

I will try your suggestion as a better work-around. Will I need to do that everytime I power up the computer?

Thanks
