Win2000 freezes

I'm having problems with my w2k system freezing when I upload stuff through FTP, as well as sometimes in IE 5.5.
The FTP problems seems to only happen when my upload speed goes over 200kB/s but it then happens at seemingly random times 2-10 minutes into the upload. I've got this same problem both in CuteFTP 4.0 and FlashFXP (can't remember version, beleive it is the newest one).

My specs
Duron 750@750
Asus A7V133a BIOS 1.004
Matrox G400 DH 32MB
Matrox Rainbow Runner G (TV-card and MJEPG hw comp)
Tekram DC390F UW SCSI (old card, pre flash-BIOS)
3COM 10Mbit XL PCI 3c900 Combo NIC
SB PCI Vibra 128 ? (CT 4810 chip anyway)
9GB IBM Ultrastar UW SCSI disk as boot disk
30GB 75GXP IBM Ide disk as data disk
Plextor SCSI 32X CD-ROM

I've installed VIA 4in1 v.31 and SP2
The files I'm uploading are on the 30GB disk which is running with Bus Mastering on. That disk is not connected to the Promise controller. While IE is running off my boot disk which is the SCSI disk.
The freezing is such that I have to cut the power with the reset button.

Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this ?

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the precipitate.

I had problems when using Internet Explorer 5.5 in Win2K. Some of the services would not work correctly with this version of the browser.

I'm currently recommending to people that they install Internet Explorer 5.0 SP2 for use in Win2K. It seems to be relatively stable. That would be version: 5.00.3315.1000. SP2 will automatically upgrade the cipher strength to 128.

It sounds like you are on cable. Have you tried updating the drivers or the firmware for the NIC card?

Are you getting blue screens, and if so, could you post the error message?

You've got a ton of stuff in that can! How are your heat levels? And what size and brand of power supply are you using?

Okej everything worked fine, the last 3 monts, before that i had problems with bluescreens, when using old Nvidia drivers in win2k. But after that, it worked 3 months, and now it hangs very random, the only things i know that could be the cause is :

C: 20mb free of 10gig
Win2k Service Pack 2

I got no errors or what so ever, the really spokey thing is that people on my INTERNET SHARING (other local connected computers) still can use internet when my computer has frozen. So, it must be Service Pack 2?? i really have no idea, and btw, after the reboot, windows 2000 doesnt ask for any scandisk on C:. I get no errors in the event manager aswell.

I now know how to get the computer to "hang", when windows booting up and loads "explorer.exe" you should try exiting the programs in the taskbar as fast as possible, the computer will now hang, EVERY TIME! I now almost believe its SP2, because I heard someone else having problems with SP2, my motherboard is a ASUS CUV4X with bios 1009.006 from asus german page.

I gave up, Reinstalled win2k, with service pack 1, and its all normal again. So any CUV4X users, DO NOT INSTALL SP2!!
