win2k cdrom access

since installing win2k my P.C seems to take forever when it trys to read a cd. If I try to install software the install program will get to 99% and then stop for a maybe a minute and then carry on or sometimes it just stops dead. I am running SOPHOS Anti virus software could this be causing the problem?

I have noticed something similar. Since installing Win2K (I've used 95, 98se, ME before this) it takes a lot longer to read CD's. Some CD's won't even autostart right. When installing programs, you should always disable the anti-virus software, though. That could be your problem.
