Has anyone attempted to run 2000 server on an Athlon?

I have personally never seen it done, but I need to have hands on experience with W2KS for my certifications. It sure would be a hell of a lot easier if I could just load it on this machine I already have....

Where's the any key?

Server will run perfectly on a Athlon 900, make sure you have at least 128mb ram on your system (I would recommend 256mb). 256mb memory will give you much quicker response time, especially when your practicing with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.

I bought a pentium once!
Everybody makes mistakes..

The system will have 512 PC133 when I finally do it....so it sounds like no problem.

Thanks

I run Win2k server as a domain controller for my small home network, its just a AMD 450 k6/2 with 196 megs of ram and it runs fine. boots a little slow though but i only reboot it once a month.
