I have been running QuickTime v5 on my Win2k SP1 with no problem whatsoever. Then I installed Win2k SP2, and whenever I tried to start QuickTime v5, an "Application Error" message would come up (quoted verbatim):-

"The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the application at location 0x66877196. Click OK to terminate the program."

Anyone out there has experienced the same problem? I have tried to redownload and reinstall QT5 several times, but the result is the same. I have also reinstalled SP2, and the same error message eventuates.

Anyone out there knows of a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

Christine.

check out the windows 200 sp2 update page. have a hunt around for any data pertaining to QT5 and sp2.
maybe try the same at the QT homepage.
