Win7 -> 10 upgrade stuck on "Getting Upgrades"

Stuck on 0% for 30+ min. Anyone got a solution?

This is the upgrade install from Win7 to Win10.

some anti virus hang the windows 10 install did you turn off the anti virus before you started the upgrade?? also what cause it to fail is usb devices like wifi and hard drives and other not needed stuff if you have anything other then usb keyboard plugged in pull it and or turn it off like a printer.

Right. I do have Avast. Completely new rig though. Screen, keyboard, mouse. That's it. Did you say I should remove my 2nd HDD to? Hope I don't have to

as it a new build go to microsoft web page use the windows media creation tool make with a clean 8g usb stick a bootable windows 10 usb stick. boot from the windows 10 stick..go to advance mode and remove the partion on the drive to make a clean install of windows 10. new version of windows 10 will let you use your windows 7/8 code to register it so you dont have to do the windows 7 to 10 upgrade now.
