Some backround info: (or just skip down to the problem)
I just finished my first build
g3258 cpu , z97 mobo, r9 280

I already had good case and what i thought was good hard drive from an old computer
The case is still great. I am now trying to install windows 7 but am having great difficulty
This is an old hard drive, the last time i used it, 6 or so years ago, it got a virus and i never bothered fixing it.
So i figure with new build, easy enough, just install win7, wiping it clean.

The problem:
win7 recognized my drive, but then when i tried to go ahead, it now claims i need a new driver to access my harddrive.
It is an old maxwell msi 200gb . super small I know but I already essentially blew my budget, and i have another non gaming oriented laptop and a cloud for what i really want to store.

So i dont know where to start? I cant find a cd for the hdd drivers and the internet seems to be vacant as well.
From trying to read into this i see http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/188411en suggests a new "controller device driver" can someone elaborate here?
Really excited to get my first custom build up and running, so I give great thanks for the assistance!

turns out switching ports worked, not sure if the connection was loose or what the deal was since i hooked to SATA 1, but SATA 2 is what worked. Just thought Id add this incase anyone else ends up at this thread from googling a similar problem
