Well, we have a thread for the highest WEI scores, so we have a pretty good idea what the score is for OC'd i7s and PIIs as well as a feeling for what a pair of GTX 295s in SLI will do, but what about more mundane systems? Ever want to know what the score would be if you put windows 7 on that old desktop of yours, or on your little sister's laptop? Hopefully we'll be able to give you an idea of what to expect if you put win7 on that old thing.
I'll start:
This is my old laptop, It's a HP Pavilion zv6000 from mid 2005 (32bit)
AMD Athlon (K8) 3500+ (2.2ghz) 4.2
1gb DDR 333 RAM 4.2
ATi 200m GPU Aero: 2.5
Gaming: 3.2
unknown old 40gb HDD 4.1
Ironically if the clockspeed is even the slightest bit low (like 199mhz vs. 200) the processor puts up a 4.1, but OCing the processor from 2.2 to 2.31ghz and the graphics card from 300 to 380mhz won't increase anything at all.
Now my Desktop, which runs 64bit:
AMD Kuma 7750 (2 core K10): 6.2 at stock 2.7ghz, goes up to 6.5 @3.1ghz
4gb OCZ DDR2 1066 RAM 7.1
ATi 4870 512mb 6.8
6.8
Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB 5.9
What's yours?
