Hi Guys,

Currently my computer is on PIA VPN. I want to use wifi miniport so my Roku (and future Rokus) can access this VPN.
My "Tap32-Win32 Adapter V9" (VPN) is shared with Microsoft Virtual wifi miniport.
I'm using Virtual Router to make the connections.
The Roku can get wireless connection and local network but no internet. With my tablet I can login to Wifi miniport but no internet (pages just hang).
I have no issues if I connect my local LAN to virtual wifi miniport (Roku and tab are fine).
My wifi dongle is the ASUS USB-N53, since local LAN to wifi miniport has no issues I don't think it's the dongle.

Somehow running VPN to wifi miniport is blocking my internet.

TIA for your help.

control panel>Network and sharing center>change adapter settings>

right click your wired connection (or the connection that's receiving internet) >sharing>

turn on internet connection sharing.

Reconnect to the hotspot.

I'm not sure if this addresses your issue specifically, but I came here with this issue trying to connect my Android to my laptop manually through the virtual adapter and was not getting internet.

(for anyone else, this is the

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=networkname key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

shpiel or w/e)
