After i start my computer it ask me for the boot disk. Then it tells me that it is the wrong disk. So i went to a few web sites and downloaded a new boot disk. Nothing works. I basically have a dead computer. Any ideas.
Thanks,
Dave

Why not just create a boot disk yourself from another machine with Windows?

What exactly does the machine say?

It sounds like you have not created a bootable floppy.

Or possibly the BIOS is not set to boot from the A drive.

Sounds like your boot sector is hosed. Boot to a 95 boot disk and type "sys c:".

Thanks for responding. After i turn it on it checks the hard drive and the other drives and then ask me to insert my boot disk. I have used a boot disk from another win95 computer and it does not except it. It tells me that it is the wrong disk. It will not let me do anything except change the bios. What do you think?
Thanks again,
Dave

Try putting the startup disk in the drive BEFORE you turn on the computer. In the BIOS, make sure you have designated the "A" drive as the startup drive...something like A,C, etc.

I have tried using a start up disk but still i keep getting the same thing. My sequence in my Bios are A,C. The light on my floppy disk lights up as if it is going to work then it ask me to insert the correct disk. I thought that is was my floppy disk drive so i bought a new drive. Still i received the same answer. Is there someting else i should be checking in my bios? What if i download Windows 95 or even 98 on the hard drive from another computer then reconnect it to my original computer? How would my bios react? I appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dave

If you have access to Windows 95 or 98 on another computer, then create a sartup disk on that computer. Settings/control panel/add remove programs/startup disk tab. Then test the startup disk on that comuter to make sure you have a good startup disk.
