Win98 dosent like my dell latitude d505

i tried to install win98 on a dell d505 but When it Gets to installing devices the cd drive isint recognized HELP !

how should i put the drivers on the laptop? ive got win 2000 installed on it should i dual boot 98 and 2000 so that i can copy drivers from 2000 to 98? UPDATE:ive tried dual booting for some reason the right drivers dont work so ive just given up

The drivers are usually OS specific. The exception to this is Vista drivers work when no Win7 drivers exist. So load the 98 drivers into 98.

I did load the win 98 driver for my cdrw dvd combo drive but it didint detetc the cdrom.But when i installed Win98 it detected the cd as a floppy.

See if your configuration in your BIOS is correct. Delete the floppy option and see if that helps (unless of course you actually still use it.
