Win98 slowdown

I have just (chritmas) built a new system. I have an Abit BE6-2 rev 2, with a WD 66.6MBs HDD, P2 350, 256MB of ram, 32MB Xpert 2000 pro and SB live. Ever since I have upgraded from my previously crap system, which only had 64MB of ram and no ATA66 support, my computer has been much slower, the mouse veing sluggish accross the screen etc. I was just wondering if there is any explanation for this or way to fix it.

I have a similar problem with my PIII 800. My old system was a PIII 550 and it ran smoother than my current one. The mouse didn't shock when doing something, but now it does.

Any solutions would be helpful for me too.
