Wincester or Venice Core

Hi, does anybody know the difference between the Vennice core and the Wincester Core. This is because i am going to get a AMD 64 3000+ and the Wincester Version is £15 cheaper.

Also how does semprom compare, is it just like Intels Celeron? is the 64 bit versions any good?

On most motherboards the Venice OC's better. The memory controller is a tiny bit better as well. For the most part they're the same chip.

The semp is comparable to a celeron, as the semp is a low end amd chip. I couldn't say if they're any good or not.

Venice core adds SSE3 instruction set and as said before some improvement in the memory controller.
The Sempron has less cache than the Athlons, and they don't have the 64 bit instruction set (At least the first semprons didn't)

actually, it'll be more of a sizzle, and if u dont' power down, it'll spread toward your mobo, then eventually, ur computer will turn into a massive fire ball

Your computer will only stay on until the heatspreader is totally heated up. If you buy a retail processor it comes with a heatsink that is enough if you do not overclock. OEM is just the processor and only 30 days warranty.

Yup and right when you change your fsb to 201 or higher and save changes BOOM your warranty is gone FOREVER.
