Window 7 doesn't boot

When I open the computer it doesn't want to pass the window welcome screen

It could be a dying hard drive. Is it a laptop your bought or a desktop that you either bought or built yourself? Many OEM computer makers (Dell, HP, etc.) have built in tools in their BIOS to scan for hardware problems.

Do you know how to rest the computer to factory setting

Depending on who made it, you may need to get to Windows to do a factory restore, which you apparently can't. There may be an option in BIOS to restore, but it won't help if your hard drive is going bad. The hardware needs to be troubleshooted before anything. What make and model is that PC?

Either that's a really old PC or it is not sold in North America where I am. I cannot find support on Gateway's website. I did check their DX series but it offered no info on how to boot into the BIOS screen. When you first power it up, look in one of the corners for a command prompt to enter the "Set up" or "BIOS" screen. Usually it's something like F2 or F10.

If you can get in there, see if there's an option somewhere to do a hardware scan for errors. Sorry, but without something to go on in support, I'm pretty much blind here. I'll see if I can find something out there on info, but Gateway's website (in the US/North America) is of no help.

I was able to find this info on restore/recovery. Again though, it will not do you much good if you have a bad sector on the hard drive. Best bet is to take that hard drive out and attach it to another PC or laptop and copy your personal files off it. https://neosmart.net/wiki/gateway-recovery-disk/

If you can’t boot into Windows 7

If your Gateway recovery partition is still intact and you can’t boot into Windows:

Power on your computer
Press the following combination of keys at boot: Alt and F10
The Gateway Recovery Management software should load
Select Restore system from factory default

The restore process erases all your personal files. Backup your files!
Click Next
Wait for the process to finish
If a wizard appears: follow the wizard instructions to setup Windows 7 again

If you have the Gateway recovery disk for Windows 7

If you have the Gateway recovery disks created for Windows 7, follow the steps below.

Turn on your computer
Insert the first recovery disk in the optical drive
Restart your computer
During the startup process, hit F12 to open the boot menu
Use your up and down arrow keys to select the CD-ROM/DVD item to boot from the recovery disk
Hit Enter
Follow the wizard instructions to restore your system
