when you change your motherboard the driver of your motherboard also changed because every motherboard have different driver so when you change your motherboard you have no option you have to reformat your system. One personnel advice is that if when you are going to change your motherboard you consult some experienced and highly qualified windows tech support team member those give you step by steps instruction to you for solving your problem.

A major hardware change such as a motherboard will always create issues with an old Windows install for the reasons mentioned above unless the motherboard is replaced with the exact same model. Another issue is that if the Windows install is an OEM version it is tied to the original motherboard. If it is not an OEM version you should be able to do a clean install of Windows 7 as was suggested by edwardsmith. After you install Windows you will need to follow the advice already given and install the new motherboard drivers.
