I did a clean install of Window 7 Pro and ran the Update job. Nothing ever came back to install,
so I went looking for option. I found many articles and settled on one that said to install KB3020369 and then KB3125574-v4-x64, and your PC would be current. No issues with downloading or installing. I check the Window Update option again and it was stil showing
"Check for updates for your computer" message. I ran the check for update again for 12 hours, and didn't pull anything and the message is still their.

My question is how do I know if I'm current on Windows updates?

Thanks,

I went and check to see if the Windows 7 Pro was activated and it wasn't. What is odd is that I know when I installed it, I didn't bypass entering the product key. I have entered the product key again and windows activated. I also restarted the laptop. This was Wednesday night around ~8:00 PM CST. I restarted the option to look for updates, but still nothing. I've also checked to make sure the Windows is still activated and it is.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

I went to the howtogeek link and downloaded KR3020369-x65 and windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x64. No issues with installing KR3020369, but KB3125574 keeps running at the "Window Update Standalone Installer .... Searching for updates on this computer".

Also, I went to the I tried to catalog.update installer from microsoft.com and I get the message 'add-on fails to install'. I'm using IE 11.

Any additional help would be appreciated.

After multiple attempts and running the trouble shooting tool Windows provides I was able to install Windows6.1-kb3125574 file.

I was able to resolve the add-on issue with the Microsoft Catalog Update site by running IE in the Admin mode, even tough, I'm logged on as the administer.
