I wonder if anyone can advise. I have an old laptop, new in 2008, ASUS G71V. Installed Win 7 ultimate 64bit a couple of years ago. Recently, tried to use it. First thing was to run window update and check for update but I have left it running for a couple of hours, still going. In the end, I gave up. Is this something to do with Microsoft not supporting Win 7? But at work, we are still using Win 7 64 bit and still receive win updates. Initially I thought there was something wrong with my laptop but I can get on internet without any problem. I can even update the graphics card driver. I have to get the machine working so that my daughter can use it for her uni course work. She has a MAC pro already but her uni uses 3D studio Max for rendering 3d animation, so this laptop may be a good solution, maybe a bit slow but at least better than running window simulation on MAC.
