So I torrented the new release of Windows 10 and installed it on my laptop and desktop
My laptop installed it fine and Windows connects to my internet just fine
my desktop on the otherhand has had a kerfuffle in connecting
internet works fine on all other devices, and I can confirm that my desktop's wifi card had been able to connect on an older win 10 build (TPLink TL-WN88ND)
can connect to the router and even access the router's homepage
internet troubleshooting has gone along the lines of:
Anyone got any idea on how to get my internet connection up and running? Thanks

internet troubleshooting has gone along the lines of:
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
pretty much every command prompt troubleshooting I could find concerning the problem
device manager poses quite an intriguing problem;
cannot update to TPLink drivers (Qualcomm is apparently the latest according to driver updater)
when I uninstall the Qualcomm driver and refresh device manager it automatically reinstalls (yup thanks)
have tried to disable driver updates through everything even group policy
cannot install TPLink drivers (although TPLink only provides for Windows 7 & 8 but I don't really think there'd be that great a compatibility disparity)
have tried installing protocols and such in Wireless Adapter Settings
there was a multigateway protocol (forget exact name) that was posted here in another thread as to solve alot of people's problems. Installing this didn't do much for me
tried to install TPLink drivers through the 'have driver' button, and even went as far as to rename the .sys file and replace the Qualcomm driver in System32
