hello, its my first time here :), am trying to install Windows 10 32bit on 2 of my HP laptop, one is a dv1000 core duo t2300, 2gig ram, intel gma950. the other one is a HP DV6000, same specs except this one as a t2450 instead of the t2300, i boot from the dvd iso windows 10 1809 32bit but both of them freeze, i only see the blue windows logo, all the other win10 version worked perfectly before, i have no idea whats going on..... i have a few other dv6000 running win10 1809 with a 64bit cpu and everything work perfectly...if i try to upgrade, i see the message ''The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation''

any ideas? thanks.

Any reason why you need these old machines to run Windows 10?

I doubt Microsoft is bothering to consider processors that old, that you got it to work at all is amazing. Basically contemporary with Windows Vista launch.

My guess is that the CPU doesn't support some basic security feature that Windows 10 now requires.

i like messing around with old technology, i have a tons of parts for theses models at home and they are cheap on ebay, i dont play games so i dont need more, as far as i know, core duo have all the cpu requirement for windows 10 32bit, like i said, it was working before until version 1809. all my others dv6000/6500/6700 are running windows 10 pro 64bit perfectly.

Key word there is 64bit. Functionally a different kernel from the 32bit one.

I've certainly run into machines that stopped being capable. Like being able to install Windows 8, but not 8.1. They could have changed anything.

I would just put Ubuntu on them and call it a day.
