Windows 10 Activation.

Currently I am running a non-activated version of Windows 10 Home. Over a week ago, I received a notification on the bottom right of my screen telling me I needed to activate. I checked what channel I was in, I was in 'RETAIL CHANNEL'. The next day, the notification went and I haven't been prompted since. I checked my channel again and I am now in 'VOLUME_KMSCLIENT'. Since then, I have been unable to connect to the Windows activation servers so I am unable to activate. Any solutions on connecting to the Windows activation servers would be greatly appreciated. Also, if I entered a Retail Key even though I am in the KMS channel, will it still activate my Windows?

It sounds like, at some point, you connected to a network with a KMS (key management service) server. Windows was activated by that connection. Did you connect to a college or business network with that machine?

I have never connected to a college or business network. The only thing I have done is changed wireless cards and switched to ethernet. Also, my Windows is still not activated even though it is in the KMS channel. A few minutes ago, I connected to the activation servers and the popup has returned. If I enter a retail key, do you think it will activate?
