the thing i like about win 7 is that you can delay and choose which upgrades you want to install but i recently found out that you cannot do that with windows 10. the reason why i liked to choose which ones to download was because i have a 250g ssd that i dont want to be filled up with tons of upgrades for things i dont even use. has anyone had the upgrade and can tell me if its decreasing their ssd capacity at all?

I have a 120GB SSD as my C drive....3 years. Win 7, and currently 8.1...soon to be Win 10.
other systems in the house have Win 10.
Updates are not really a concern for drive space.

I have a 256 GB and have had Windows 10 since release day. A couple commonly used programs and Windows on the SSD, and have hovered around 95-100 GB free since installation.

You can also set your system restore usage to a low % of disk space - that is generally what eats up space when doing Windows updates or new software installations. I run a disk cleanup every week or two.
