Windows 10 and motherboard BIOS question

Does W10 store its activation solely in the motherboard BIOS? If the BIOS ever becomes corrupt and I have to get a new BIOS chip, do I lose activation?

W10 was installed as an update to W7.
I do not have a Microsoft account, nor do I want one.

Solution
Potentially yes and absolutely if this is an OEM build PC. However Microsoft is being rather liberal with how activations of Windows 10 work so it may not matter, just don't stake your life on it. One of the main benefits of tying your Windows licence to a Microsoft account is to keep your ability to reactivate Windows separate from the hardware.
