I installed the free version of Windows 10 from the "icon" on my laptop. Now when the computer starts up I get a black screen. I press cntrl, alt, delete and I sign in. I click the sign in and very briefly (a couple of seconds) I see my normal desktop with the new look of windows 10 and then I get a black screen. I use cntrl, alt, delete again and am able to access the task manager. From there I have accessed system restore, but it says there is no restore point. Can anyone help me? Please keep in mind I am not very computer savy, so please "dumb it down" a little for me :) I really don't care which version of Windows I use at this point. I just want my laptop to work. I appreciate any and all help. Thank you!

Try booting into safe mode with networking and perform a clean graphics driver install.

At the same moment in which you power on, begin pressing F8, repeatedly, or begin again and press F8+Shift if F8 alone fails to access the boot menu, until the advanced boot menu appears. Choose the safe mode with networking option. Download the DDU and run it. Download the GPU drivers and install them. Reboot.

Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade

Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.

This basically is Dell saying "if you upgrade to windows 10, good luck, you're on your own, we're not supporting Windows 10 on this machine as we feel it's too old."

I'd reinstall you previous operating system. What version of windows were you running prior to attempting the upgrade? Do you have or know your product key for the previous OS version?
