Hello!

Recently my desktop computer went through a huge Windows update that took about 1 hour to complete. The update was automatic and I had no choice but to go through with it. This update was the most recent windows 10 update (around 9/25/16) (Hopefully you know which update i'm talking about). Anyways, since the update, my desktop has been running terribly. I will list out the problems my computer has:
1. If I leave my computer running, unattended with no actions, for about 10 minutes, my computer crashes to the "blue screen of death" saying that windows has run into a problem and is trying to fix it.
2. My computer has gotten significantly slower and stutters at almost everything I try and open.

3. Now, as of 9/30/16 (Today), my computer doesn't even boot up correctly. It goes straight to the "Blue screen" every time, stating:

"Your PC/device needs to be repaired
The operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.

File: ksecdd.sys
Error Code: 0xc0000102

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for start up settings"

So with all that, I don't know how to fix the issue. It won't let me press F8 for settings because it just keeps looping back to the blue screen when I press an option.
I don't have much knowledge on how to repair a windows operating system, so if anyone could help, I would really need it.

I use my computer for school work so I need all my homework assignments on the OS harddrive. Thank you ALL.

go to settings and "update & security" then "recovery". There should be options to go back to an "earlier build" and also "reset this pc".

The update was likely 1607 the Anniversary Update. This was W10 equivalent of Service Pack 1. Lots of fixes, upgrades and other stuff packed into it.

If you can't get into actual Windows then your only real option is to make a USB ISO https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and boot straight to it. You may be able to repair from that and if not you can perform a clean install.

Please note if you have important documents or whatever on this PC you should back up or pick the files out of the hard drive before proceeding so you don't lose anything.

ok so first, thank you for all the information.
second, i downloaded windows 10 to a USB drive. So now how do i start it with my broken windows OS? I can't use any of the start up options, not even the command prompt. it doesnt even let me type in a command. When I type a command and press enter, it just right back to the error screen. So I literally can't do anything. Any suggestions??

Update: I got into the bios screen. I am at the change boot device screen, but how my USB drive isnt showing up? How do I make it visible so I can choose to start windows through my USB?

Ok so I was able to start my PC through the reinstallation CD, but I can't run the command you suggested because it says "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart windows and run sfc again"

So with that said, I cant restart windows because I will get the same original BSOD error code, which brings us right back to the start of the problem..... It is like im in an endless loop UUGHHH

Please post your motherboard manufacturer name and model number. Someone might DL the manual to read it to tell you where to look. If you bought a pre-made PC, you'll need to provide that name and model #. Not all computer BIOSs are setup the same.

Wow, no wonder you are having problems, that's one of the worst manuals I've read. IT's not helpful at all to see what your manufacturer called the needed menu in question or if you can manually set it up.

Try pressing F11 during boot. It should bring up a boot device selector.

yea i know haha..

and I just tried multiple times right now.. F11 didn't do anything. Still goes straight to BSOD - ksecdd.sys missing/corrupt and errorcode 0x0000102

So I used the creation tool to put the files on a USB. But under my BIOS options, the USB isn't listed, so im assuming it (BIOS) only is compatible with hard drives and CD drives. So currently, i am using the Windows Creation Tools to put the ISO on a CD.

With the CD, Im going to make the CD drive boot first so it loads the WindowsISO CD.

ATM, my current order is my CD drive, My WD 1TB drive (the one that has the constant BSOD), and im not sure what the 3rd one is, because I dont have a 3rd hardrive, but it lists one anyways
