I can't boot into my os. I tried to follow help threads that I googled but when it gets to "bootrec /rebuildbcd", it says that device couldn't be found. Also when running "bootsect /nt60 ALL" it said access denied on that drive (for some reason it likes to be assigned as drive F).
Also in those tutorials where you're going with "cd /d f:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\" it doesn't work - no directory like that.
In Gparted I can see part of a disk that has no file system, pretty sure it was boot part.
I need to get my pc running asap, have online test tomorrow (university) that I can't miss.

Tools I have:
  • Laptop (can't plug that drive into it)
  • Gparted live usb
  • Win 10 install usb

Go to task manager -> Performance-> Open resource monitor (at the bottom left)-> Go to network-> See Whats consuming your network-> right click on it -> end process
If that didnt Work try scanning your computer with malwarebytes as it could be a trojan
Um... Sir I don't know if you got it from my post (it's kinda chaotic) but I can't launch my OS. I'm working with command prompt from Win 10 install usb.

Solution
Advise PC specs make/model or motherboard/ hard drive/ powersupply

What happened prior to this that might have caused the issue? Here is a way to rescue files if you can't boot from the hard drive https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...nt-start/862c143f-9239-4e63-8968-635e8ba9efd6

Here is a link using diskpart , probably similar to Gparted, to rebuild your EFI partition https://www.diskpart.com/windows-10/missing-efi-partition-windows-10.html

PC specs:
MOBO: MSI Z170A Gaming M5
Disk: PNY xlr8 cs3030 1TB nvme
PSU: Zalman 600W
CPU: intel i7-6700
RAM 64GB ddr4 2133MHz (2 different sets of 2)
GPU: GTX 1070 msi gaming z
Before it started I installed audacity + 2 codecs, virtual line cable, voicemeeter banana and proceded with restart. After that I got stuck at an infinite Windows loading (bios logo + dots going in circles). So I started following the google guides and I landed here. Also I updated the bios but it didn't help.

I'm sure it's not hardware fault because I can see my drive and files in command prompt launched from win 10 install usb. It's just missing boot partition (file system thing).

Now I'm going to try this diskpart guide.

I'm not sure if I can do the same in gparted as shown in diskpart guide... Not gonna risk data for now. I'm going to copy my important files to some other hdd and then I'll give windows recovery usb a try.

Well... it's 2:30AM here and recovery usb is only half way done. I'll just reinstall OS since I've copied all important files and it will take only a couple of minutes (usb 3.0 and nvme disk).
Thank you onespeedbiker for your help, that copy method was very clever.
