So a couple of days ago my pc decided to reset on its own and when it started to boot back up it turned off again and kept repeating this. So eventually I got it into the whole advanced options thing and I decided to just restore it as I have all my important files backed up on an external HDD anyway. It began restoring and I could see it making progress but I left it as I know it can take a few hours sometimes. I came back after a couple of hours and it's now stuck in a boot loop again but im not getting past the screen of the blue windows logo and the loading wheel going round, it just goes straight to black after that and then restarts again and does the same thing over and over. I've left it for a further 3 hours or so to see if it was just still taking its time reinstalling windows but nothings changed and it's still stuck in the loop.

Hello again cianchrisbeatty

You can refer to this tutorial to create a Windows 10 bootable, installation USB drive, or download the ISO image and burn it on to a DVD.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!

Hi, I've managed to create a Windows 10 bootable on a usb and I've been able to successfully install windows and everything goes great, windows is installed and I'm able to connect to the internet and install my gpu drivers and everything goes perfect for about 20 minutes till it reboots again and is stuck in the same boot loop I had at the start. I thought it was a HDD issue as it seemed to be running into trouble when trying to boot from the HDD with Windows installed on it so I replaced it with a HDD from an old pc that was working 100 % and went through the whole process of reinstalling windows again and everything went smoothly and I was on the os as if everything was working again and then again after about 20 minutes it started the whole boot loop again.

Hello again cianchrisbeatty

Since Windows runs normally after being installed afresh and encounters the error after 20 minutes or so, it looks like any device driver update or Windows update is causing the problem.

To start with, you can try not to connect to the Internet and use the PC offline for a while to check if it still shows the error. If it does, you can first try to Stop Windows from Updating Device Drivers Automatically.

If the problem persists, you can keep Windows from downloading and installing updates. Here's how this can be done:

> Type SERVICES.MSC in the Cortana search box and press Enter.

> Scroll down and double-click the Windows Update service in the Services snap-in.

> Click Stop from the Service status section of the General tab, and click Apply.

> Next, choose Disabled from the Startup type drop-down list and click OK.

> Connect your PC to the Internet, use it for a while, and see if the issue is resolved.

Cheers!!

Solution
Okay, I reinstalled windows (for the 4th time) and left it for an hour without connecting to the internet or doing anything at all with it. After I came back it was still on and hadn't rebooted so I installed my drivers for my wireless dongle and it still didn't reboot. I installed drivers for my headset and chrome and it was still working perfect. Then I attempted to install my gpu drivers and that's when it rebooted and got stuck in the boot loop again. Luckily I was able to launch into safe mode and uninstall the drivers and reboot, and now it's back to normal again. At least now I know where the problem is coming from even if it's still not fixed. Thanks for all your help!
