Hello guys

My Win10 is about 6 months old and I have it installed an Samsung M.2 SSD

After POST, the Windows Logo came on for a second, and then I was on the Lock-screen in no time.

But since last week, during booting, there's a loading animation playing (dots going about in circle) for about 20 seconds, and then it takes me to the Lock-screen.

What the hell happened? Except for some updates, I have not installed anything.

Was it a Windows Update?

Solution
You can uninstall the last feature update to see if that is the cause. Settings->Update and Security->View update history->Uninstall updates-> choose the update to uninstall and click "Uninstall" in the menu bar.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs.

Windows update: difficult to know per se. You can look in the Windows Update History regarding installed updates and any related problems.

How full is the boot drive? Make (Samsung), model, capacity, how full?

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris. Reseat all cards, cables, connectors, and RAM. Ensure that all are fully and firmly seated.

Win 10 being 6 months old - what about the host computer itself?

"Lots of....."

What are the other drives: make, model, capacities?

Try disconnecting all drives but the boot drive.

Will the computer boot into safe mode?

PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition?

What might have changed since all was well?
You could use system restore to reset your pc back to then.

I might suspect that for whatever reason, fast boot has become disabled.
That causes windows to go back to loading all of the components individually instead of a single read from the last good image.

I tried to toggle the fast boot thing in the power settings but it does not work!

It started happening since the latest feature update....
