Windows 10 boot

I have a Shuttle cube and just got a Gtx 970 low profile (6.9" L x 4.9 H.I just pulled a 960 .,it fit just fine. The 970 seats in the Pcie slot but the power plugs are on top and the hdd and dvd drive bracket sits on the power cable.,so I'm unable to put it case Cover on and install the drive bracket. My question is is can I move my os hdd to a external USB 3 doc Bay and boot/ run my os.Also where can I find a low profile power connector adapter? Thanks in advance for any help.

You can just clone all your stuff to an external drive and get a flat pcie extension.
