Question Windows 10 BSOD when installing in SSD

A few weeks ago my PC had problems playing games and I had BSOD. I knew I had my gpu was in poor condition (games usually crash and the desktop was slow to load) and I thought that the BSOD screens was also for the gpu.

I changed the gpu to an RX 590 and the games worked perfectly and the desktop was loading as expected. I decided to reinstall Windows 10 and there the problems began.

I selected my Crucial MX500 SSD for installation, but in the "Getting files ready for installation" step in many casses the screen freezed or a bsod appeared.

The errors / bsod during installation have been the following:

  • The screen freezes.
  • Error "0xC0000005"
  • BSOD "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"
  • BSOD "SYSTEM PTE MISUSE"
I tried to install it on my HDD and it was installed without problems, but of course, I want to install it on my SSD so everything goes fast. I tried again and after some attempts with freezing / bsod, it was installed.

Now I have Windows 10 in my SSD but the BSODs still appear. For now:

  • PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
  • SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (FLTMGR.SYS)
I know it seems to be the SSD, but CrystalDiskMark says it's good (99%). SMART gives the following values:

  • Rellocated NAND blocks: 10 (threshold)
  • Percent Lifetime Used: 99 (threshold)
  • All other "threshold" is at 0.
Having these SMART values is when I doubt that the problem is the SSD (i don't know if i am checking SMART values correctly). I have also performed a test with memtest86 and it has not detected any errors.

I have all my components under warranty, I just need to know what is failing. Thanks in advance.

I often find errors during installation are ram

Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors.

Crucial software displays the same SMART values as CrystalDiskInfo, and it displays a good health for ssd.

I made 3 memtest86, one with both sticks and the others with only 1 stick. The 3 tests with 0 errors.
