Windows 10 build 1607 and changing the default browser

Hi

Lately I upgraded to Windows 10 1607. It seems that whenever I open the default apps window (and only that window), the taskbar icons are blinking and I can't change the default browser to Firefox (I'm using the portable version). It's in the list but when I select it, Edge is re-selected. If I select Internet Explorer, it is selected and even the icons stop blinking.

I guess because Firefox is portable, it does not appear in "set defaults by app", so I can't use this solution I read on the internet.

Any ideas?

Download & install the regular Firefox on your computer's hard drive, should fix the problem.

I use Firefox portable something like forever and didn't have a problem until now
add to that the blinking icons of Windows taskbar
and that equals to the fact that the problem is not Firefox.
