windows 10 clean install questions

currently i have a ghetto rig with windows 7 OEM i have not chosen to upgrade to a free windows 10 yet because i am building a nice high end gaming rig
i have downloaded windows 10 on to a USB drive for doing a clean install with my question is this

will i be able to use my current windows 7 OEM product key on a clean install without any problems on the new build or will i have to buy a new product key ?

You have to run the media creation tool from microsoft to upgrade your current activated copy of windows 7. After that, once it says windows 10 is activated, microsoft will take a snapshot of your computer.

Now you can boost from your flash drive, format the drive, and reinstall 10. Do not put in any product keys, your 7 key will not work, windows 10 will activate itself.

so if i understand this right it will snapshot my curent ghetto build hardware and wont recognize the new system when i get it up and running this weekend ?

No, your new system you will have to do the same thing, install 7, activate, upgarde to 10.
