I got a free upgrade for windows 10 through windows 7 ultimate from using assistive technologies. Since then my computer has been freezing any time i try to load a game or install anything. I try to run disk cleanup and the computer always seems to freeze on previous windows installion and the windows.old file. Ive updated drivers, reinstalled windows, reset winsock catalog, ran sfc scan, almost anything you can think of. I really like windows 10 and would like to keep it. The freezing is the only issue I have.

Solution
Try running the free version of memtest86 on your ram stick(s), one stick at a time, any errors are too many and stick needs to be replaced/removed. It creates a bootable USB so can run without windows

Try running free version of hdtune or crystaldiskmark on the hdd or ssd and check its health scores

the two most common reasons to freeze are hdd or ram, so we check them first. Another is drivers, did you get the latest from MSI?
Do a fresh install?

download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)

I did a clean install and it didn't freeze at all for a few hours, now it's freezing more frequently than it did. Which seems really weird.
