Hello. Originally, I had Windows 7 Home, but have Pro key; I also have Windows 8 Enterprise key. Is it possible to cheat on Windows and activate Enterprise?

When I installed Win7, I borrowed the disk from my friend, who didn't believe it's home premium only (I think he upgraded from Vista, but not sure) and didn't have another installation media. So now I'm stuck with Win10 Core, but want to upgrade to Enterprise while I still can (until end of July?) and so interested if it's possible somehow. Legally... Reinstall Windows isn't an option - I have tons and tons of programs, and their files in %appdata% and other places. Which I need. But I believe there has to be some easy (or at least some hard) way, and would like to learn it. Can you help me?

Enterprise versions of Windows get activated useing a different mechanism than a retail version. Validation for enterprise is under the companies control. The retail keys are validated by microsoft. A enterprise version would not validate a retail key simply because it would not have access to the proper information.
you can get an upgrade based on the pro key but not Enterprise. I think its only available to corporate clients

Why not just buy a product key for Windows 10 Enterprise? Well, Microsoft doesn’t even sell those to us mere mortals! While Microsoft offers paid upgrades to Windows 10 Professional, the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10 are only available through volume licensing channels. Microsoft previously offered Windows 7 Ultimate, which contained all the same features as the Enterprise versions of Windows, but there’s nothing like that for Windows 10.

But... in Store, there is a link, i have a win10 pro key, and i tried that and nothing. But there must be a way... now i need to upgrade to pro, and it seems to me, it'll be easy to upgrade to enterprise

buy a pro key enter it in your change keys on ur settings in windows 10 put your pro key you have activate it as pro keep all your settings done it this way a few times legal if your using legit software non oem keys

OK, so... I managed to upgrade to Pro, and then "kind of" to Enterprise, but now my computer is messy: Settings, control panel and few other places report the OS to be Enterprise, but Registry Editor says I have Pro. Now, with my computer being messy, I want to get back to Pro (since I had it activated successfully). Is there any way I can "downgrade"?

P.S. My Windows has no key now, it's not activated, and when I try to enter the product keys in command prompt (in Settings, "Change product key" is greyed out) no key works. I mean, I tried keys from Win7HP, Win7Pro, Win8Ent and no key works. I tried slui 3 and still the same. So is there any way I can activate the Pro edition?

There is no upgrade from Win 8 Enterprise to Win 10 Enterprise.

What edition of Windows will I get as part of the free upgrade
...
Some editions are excluded from the free upgrade offer, including: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8 Enterprise, Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Windows RT, and Windows RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise outside of this offer. For more info about upgrade qualifications, see the Windows 10 specifications page.
