Windows 10 Creators update breaks Youtube only on Chrome

So recently Windows 10 made me update to the creators edition literally out of the blue even though I thought I had most of my automatic updates completely off. I was like ok whatever you can update just don't mess with my stuff! Turns out that they really want me to use Microsoft Edge. So much so that when I load up a Chrome Youtube video, it literally refuses to load. The only workaround I managed to dig up just with experimentation is to load up Edge on any random video and then switch back to Chrome and reload the page then the video will play. Getting pretty annoying especially when I have music playlists running.

One fix even recommended turning off hardware acceleration in Chrome but that did nothing.

Any fix for this? Currently running Windows 10, version 1703.

Solution
have you tried resetting chrome? https://www.top-password.com/blog/reset-chrome-to-default-settings/

is chrome your default browser still as I know CU wants you to use Edge. I use chrome all time and not had this problem.
