Hello, I am an avid PC gamer, and when my internet goes out I lose my sanity.
So, I was downloading a game this afternoon, and I watched as the download speed slowly dropped: 60mb, 30mb, 5mb, 100kb, 1.2kb and then boom, gone.
Keep in mind, my internet had been working perfectly so far today, and I don't know what happened.
So anyways- after the major performance drop- I restarted the download and everything- but nothing worked. So when I went to Toms Hardware to ask wtf was wrong, I lost all connection.
EVERY OTHER COMPUTER IN MY HOUSE HAS WIFI, but not my laptop. I am presented with the message: "No Wi-Fi networks found" when I open up the networks tab in the lower left of the screen.
Some info:
- I have a Dell laptop- not sure which kind though, it has an Intel core i5.
- I have AVG Antivirus, and have scanned it twice since the problem started, with no issues
- I have NO networks listed under the Network tab in the lower right, so I can't access the Linksys website by putting in my IP thingy
- I have a Linksys router that has been reset 4 times since the problem, it works for everything but my laptop.
- I have reset my laptop twice, and shut it down for 30 minutes to no avail
- I am sending this from my desktop, which is not a gaming desktop.
