Hello all,

I have a lenovo t500 and recently installed windows 10. However, when installing I kept my peripherals and extra monitor plugged in. (I am sensing this is where things went bad.) Now on windows 10, everytime I boot up, I get a black screen after the windows 10 boot up screen (displays logo and spinning circle). I have to make the computer sleep and turn it on again for the display to appear.

Furthermore, it is detecting that I have two monitors when i only have the one screen from the laptop. Also, none of my FN keys are working on the keyboard.

Any ideas as to solutions to this problem?

I have tried:

uninstalling/updating drivers. (It shows two monitors installed under the drivers so I've tried keeping both and deleting one).

What I want to avoid:

Reinstalling Windows 10, I HAVE SLOW INTERNET.

What are the "names" of the monitors in windows, and what is the model name/number of any external monitor you use with the laptop?

The FN keys require special drivers be installed for them to work, AND you have to hold down the "FN" key (usually left side near CTRL) to use them AND It's possible there is a "FN Lock" button on the keyboard/combination that you pressed that disabled them, or a setting in Windows that did it, OR a setting in the BIOS that disable them. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/T500-how-to-enable-Fn-lock/td-p/1036377
