Windows 10 Does Not Detect My Optical Drive

I've recently installed Windows 10 on a brand new drive and I've had it for about 3 days. I've been meaning to install Flight Simulator X but I can't because windows 10 does not detect my LG optical drive. When I open the tray and put in a CD no notification pops up. When I go to "this pc" it does not show that there is an optical drive. When I go to device manager it does show my drive. I've tried doing the command prompt fix, the registry fix, and I've also tried to update the drivers. NON OF THESE WORKED. One of them blocked my PC from booting so I had to reinstall windows. PLEASE HELP

its possible you need to download drivers before windows will see device, go here and enter your Optical drive details and see: http://www.lg.com/au/support/software-firmware

Have you tried assigning a drive letter manually? Try going to Disk Management, see if your drive pops up and try to right click to assign a letter for the drive.
